Anastasia Beverly Hills: Ultimate Glow Kit - First Impressions, Photos and Swatches
Anastasia Beverly Hills recently launched a new glow kit and being the glow addict that I am, I had to order it on the release date. The Ultimate Glow Kit contains six powder highlights which are two more shades than the prior glow kits. This is the only kit that includes a mirror inside. The kit retails for $45 USD and $59 CND and is sold on Sephora.com and Anastasia's site but is currently out of stock.
The majority of the shades are in a gold hue and comprise of two finishes. The top row contains three lustre pearl finishes that are finely milled and meant to be layered. The bottom three shades have a metal pearl finish which is more colour saturated. Some of the highlighters in this palette may be too dark for lighter complexions but can be worn as eyeshadows.
Snow - pure icy white with platinum reflect
White Sand - warm beige with a gold reflect
Golden Dawn - warm amber with gold reflect
Sunray - warm copper with a peach gold luster
Amber Gold - warm rose with a gold luster
Hot Sand - (warm bronze with amber luster
One of Anastasia's pro artists recommended applying your setting spray first before your highlighter then when layering the second shade, wet your brush before application. I have tested this with a ABH brush #23 and some shades applied a bit powdery and tended to chunk up when applied wet. Therefore leaving an uneven application. I found using a flat synthetic fan brush worked best. I applied it as is then wet my brush to apply another shade. The metal shades are not that finely milled and contain sparkly flecks and tend to cause some fallout. Therefore leaving specks of glitter on your face, which may not be a bad thing for some. Pores are more emphasized with most of these. If you own the other ABH glow kits, I don't believe this is a must have purchase.
