Huda Beauty Lip Contour Set: Trophy Wife and Muse - Review and Swatches
Huda Beauty recently released lip contour sets that feature three must-haves for creating Huda Kattan’s lip contouring technique. It features a full sized Lip Contour Pencil and two mini Liquid Matte Lipsticks. The set retails for $30(CND) at Sephora and is available in three complementary colour options. Each set contains Huda’s favourite matching shades to create an ombre effect. I picked up the set that contains Trophy Wife and Muse.
The packaging is very sleek and comes with a slide out sleeve that features a gorgeous portrait of Huda wearing the lip products that are housed inside. Pictured at the back is an illustration of how to use the lip contour set to create an ombré effect by using the darkest shade first and dabbing the lighter shade onto the center of your lips. In case you forget, the items are labelled in the box by the order of the steps 1, 2 or 3.
I have reviewed one of her Liquid Mattes in Bombshell here and I honestly really like the formula on these. The consistency is very thin and they apply wet which allows you some time to work with it before it dries. Two coats may be required to achieve the desired pigmentation. The lipsticks have a yummy vanilla scent to them that is not overwhelming. Trophy Wife is described as rose wood shade and Muse is a mute rose.
I hadn't owned any of the lip contour pencils so I was excited to try this one in their best-selling shade Trophy Wife. It has a good colour payoff with a matte finish and it's also waterproof. It glided on with ease and no tugging when applied to the lips.
Overall, I think is set is a great deal especially with the discount I received during the VIB Sephora sale. The lip contour pencil retails for $25 and a full size Liquid Matte is $26 and for $30 you get to try out three of her products at $10 apiece. These colours are right up my alley, I love rosey shades. If you were curious about trying Huda Beauty’s products, this is an amazing set to do so. You won’t be disappointed.
Have you tried any of the Liquid Mattes? What's your favourite?
