Mac Vibe Tribe: Haul and Swatches
Today I will be sharing my picks from Mac’s Vibe Tribe Summer 2016 Collection. This collection screams summer and outdoor music festivals to me. There was some controversy brewing around this launch in regards to culture appropriation. However the brand has stated that “there is no connection to nor was it inspired by the Native American cultures”.
I love the tribal artwork on the packaging but the packing itself feels a little cheap. I own many limited edition lines from Mac and the quality far exceeds the plastic feel of the compacts from the Vibe Tribe Collection. However, the Mac junkie in me needed a few items and of course the highlighter junkie in me needed the gleamtones powder.
The powder in Dunes at Dusk has a cool symmetrical multi-colour pattern. It looks really pretty when all shades are combined together (see below).
The lipsticks I picked up were Hot Chocolate (dirty plum – satin) which was a popular shade in this collection and Pure Vanity (pale, peach nude – lustre).
I actually wished a couple of the lipsticks were a bit more wearable on me (Tanarama – pale beige with golden shimmer and Arrowhead – bare nude) otherwise I would purchase more.
