Becca X Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette: Review and Swatches

Hey loves!

Jaclyn Hill, YouTube sensation, and Becca Cosmetics are back with another great collab.  I’m so excited that I got my hands on the highly sought after face palette.  I wasn’t able to grab it during the pre-launch so I was stalking Sephora’s site when the collection went live.  The limited edition face palette retails for $52 USD and $59 CDN and is selling out rapidly! The total value of the palette is $136.  I absolutely love the previous Champagne Glow palette that Jaclyn Hill released with Becca and I knew this one would live up to the hype as well.

The Becca X Jaclyn Hill Face Palette features one of my all-time favourite highlighters, Champagne Pop, as well as a brand new golden highlighter created by Jaclyn, Prosecco Pop, which is stunning.  I would have bought this palette just for this shade alone.  The palette also includes three gorgeous blushes that lean to the warmer side.  If you like gold and coral tones like me, this palette is a winner.

Packaging:

Ok let’s discuss the packaging; it’s so luxurious and elegant.  I honestly wouldn’t expect anything less from Jaclyn Hill. Dazzling in white and gold accents, the compact is very sturdy; a bit too heavy to fit my makeup bag and for travelling.  A huge mirror is housed inside the compact and it stays open for easy use and has a clasp closure.  The pan sizes are pretty decent with the highlighter shades bigger in size.  I would have preferred if the name of each shade was printed on the palette itself but other than that it’s perfect.

Colours:

The formula of the shades is smooth, blendable and long wearing.  The colours are very pigmented and add a nice flush and luminosity to the cheeks.  The shades are buildable and can be used to create many different combinations.  I had seen Jaclyn combine the two highlighter shades on her snap chat and they look amazing when stacked together.  The possibilities don’t end there; you can customize any shade to your liking.  I truly love all the shades in this palette and see myself using every single one.

Champagne Face Palette

Rose Spritz – is soft peachy pink with pale gold shimmer. I love the pink sheen it adds to the cheeks and it can also be used as a blush topper on some.

Amaretto - is a matte toasted almond blush that would be great for adding warmth and dimension.  I love using tan blushes for adding some additional glow.

Pamplemousse - The most stand out shade in this palette is a dark coral pink shade that would be great for adding a pop of colour to your cheeks.  It is much pigmented so using a light hand would be recommended.

Champagne Pop – described as soft white gold with pinky peach undertones.  It has a frosted finish and is super pigmented.  A little goes a long way with this shade.  I now own three Champagne Pops (pictured below).

Prosecco Popis described as a medium warm gold that was inspired by liquid gold.  It carries more of a yellow tone than Champagne Pop which looks great on my tan complexion.   Prosecco Pop looks amazing on its own but even better when combined with Champagne Pop.

Final thoughts:

If I haven’t already convinced you that you need this palette, let me reiterate my point. Yes you need it! The shades are universally flattering and would complement all skin tones.  It can also be worn all year round.  I love that you can create your own custom glow by layering different shades.  The fact that you can wear the same palette daily and create a different look each time is a big plus.  Considering Becca’s blushes retail for $39-41 (CDN) and the shades in this palette average $10-11 per shade; it is definitely worth the price.  I don’t own many blushes from this brand so this is a great chance to test them out.  Once this palette sells out online and in stores, it will not be restocked, so run and get it now at Sephora.
