Maybelline S18 Launches - The City Kits, The Burgundy Bar, Master Chrome Metallic/Holographic Highlighter and SuperStay 24hr Foundation
Maybelline New York has a great line up of new products for spring 2018. I've previously shared the Total Temptation Collection which is included in this line up here. Today I will be talking about couple new eye shadow palettes, highlighters and the new foundation. All these products are currently available in stores right now. Keep reading to get the scope on these new launches.
The City Kits - Pink Edge - $17.99
A city inspired eye and cheek palette that includes iridescent and matte eyeshadows. It includes eight eyeshadows, one blush, and one highlighter. There are two colour options - Pink Edge and Urban Light. Pink Edge is the darker of the two and contains pink and mauve hues. The packaging is lightweight and compact in size for travelling. However, it doesn't seem sturdy enough for travelling. One of the shadows popped out during shipping and broke. The palette was curated to include two different eye looks. The blush is a beautiful rosy pink and sheers out when blended. The highlighter is a light pink shade that gives a metallic glow. The shadows have a soft texture and go on evenly. The shimmer shades are light in colour and apply best with your fingers or a wet brush. The mattes are fairly pigmented with the exception of the black. The shadows lasted an entire work day - over 8 hours.
The Burgundy Bar Eye Shadow Palette - $17.99
The Burgundy Eye Shadow Palette features 12 curated shades for custom eye makeup looks. The palette features burgundy and neutral hues that are great for every day and night time looks. The compact packaging is perfect for on-the-go. There are 2 matte and 10 shimmer/glitter shades. The palette was curated to include 13 different looks that are laid out in quads, trios and duos. The shadows are pigmented and feel smooth to the touch. The burgundy shades faded rather fast - within 4 hours - as oppose to the other shades. The glitter shades work best as a lid topper. I like the formula on the shimmers, they are velvety and pigmented.
Maybelline has extended their Master powder highlighters to include these two very stunning shades. The Holographic Highlighter in shade Opal looks white in the pan but it has a purple/pink shift. It gives a stunning iridescent glow! It contains prismatic pearls that sparkle on the skin. When applied with a purple/iridescent cream highlighter base, the combo is amazing. If you don't like sparkly highlighters, this may not be for you. Molten Rose Gold is the Chrome Metallic Highlighter. It leaves a soft metallic finish. I prefer to apply it wet to intensify the highlight. It blends well and melts into your skin to give you a glow from within look. It is a rose gold shade that may be too dark for pale complexions.
SuperStay 24hr Foundation - $14.99
A full coverage foundation that is said to be long wearing, oil-free and doesn't clog pores. The formula dries quickly to a matte finish. I suggest applying it in sections. There are 16 available shades in this line. The brand recommends choosing the lighter shade if you're between two shades. I was sent four shades to try but unfortunately, none of the colour options worked for me. I tried mixing shades 330 and 334. It oxidized pretty quickly and looked slightly orange. Needless to say, I didn't wear it for a long period of time to speak on it's longevity but it did hide any imperfections and blemishes.
You can shop all the above products at maybelline.com and drugstores that carry the brand.
