Make Up For Ever - Matte Velvet Skin Foundation
Make Up For Ever just launched a mattifying full coverage foundation. The new Matte Velvet Skin is available in 40 different shades. The formula contains a unique flexi-fit complex that makes it lightweight and oil-free. It is said to bend and breath with the skin so it doesn't flake or fade while promising 24-hour wear. The Matte Velvet Skin retails for $48 CAD (30 ml) exclusively at Sephora.
The foundation comes in a squeeze tube which allows control of how much you use. The formula is creamy and not runny. It blends well and doesn't feel dry throughout the day. The foundation sets to a semi-matte finish with medium to full coverage. My skin looks natural and feels like I have nothing on. It blurs my imperfections and hides my pores. The shade range is quite wide and has different undertones to accommodate various skin tones. Some may be disappointed that it isn't a true matte but I like the velvet finish. I've paired it with the MUFE hydrating primer. I apply it with a brush and blend with a wet sponge. It lasted throughout the day and didn't oxidize. However, it does dry darker. You can see swatches of all shades wet and dry here. I suggest getting a few samples to test out different shades. I received shade Y455 - Praline and it looks good but I probably could pull off a shade lighter as well.
