Generation Beauty: Toronto 2016

GenbeautybyIpsy

Hi Loves,

Thanks to Ipsy I had an amazing opportunity to attend GenBeauty this past weekend.  Generation Beauty by Ipsy is a great event that unites top makeup brands, beauty gurus and makeup lovers.  This was the first year that this event was held in Toronto and it was a great success. The event was two days and attendees were given a gift bag filled with goodies each day. It typically takes place in LA and New York so I'm really glad that they took this event international.

GenBeauty

It was an excellent chance to network with brands as well as try out some products that they offer.  Each vendor gave out some great goodies in deluxe and sample sizes.  A lot of booths were only displaying new products (Like MUFE, Smashbox, and Too Faced to name a few) that they launched or will be launching while others were selling their products at a discounted rate (Tarte, Pur Cosmetics, Rock your Hair).  I will be doing a separate post on the goodies I received and purchased.

I was extremely excited to meet some of my favourite You-tubers.  I was a total fan girl when I met @desiperkins; I love her channel and style.  Her appearance caused pandemonium among the diehard beauty lovers. She was so nice to extend her meet and greet from 30 minutes to two hours and she also came back on the second day to meet more fans.  Of course Steven Perkins was right by her side at all times.  I also met Katy aka @Lustrelux, who is so cute and sweet.  I was really surprised to meet celebrity makeup artist @mac_daddyy and @jadeywadey180.  They both were very nice and looked flawless. There were many other vloggers there that I didn't get a chance to meet due to time constraints.

Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Overall, I had an amazing time meeting and connecting with many people in the industry and other makeup enthusiast like myself.  It was great to get my hands on some products from brands we don't have in Canada like Pixie and Pur Cosmetics although, I believe they will be launching at Shoppers Drug Mart very soon.  The only downside was a lot of time was spent waiting in lines and I didn't get to make it to all of the vendors on the same day and there wasn't much time on the second day as it ended earlier.  With that said, I still was able to make it around to all the booths to redeem my freebie coupons.  Some were worth the wait while others weren't.  I definitely will be attending next year if they decide to bring the event back to Toronto, which I hope they do.

Stayed tuned for more blogs posts about this event. Please like and subscribe.

Thanks for stopping by,

Samantha
