Maybelline Launches the Total Temptation Collection, including a New Mascara!

Happy New Year Beauties!

I'm definitely going to be giving in to total temptation this year with the new collection from Maybelline New York. The brand is known for their great mascaras and this collection features a brand new coconut scented mascara. There is also a shadow and highlight palette and a brow definer pencil in the collection to achieve makeup looks from sensual and natural to sexy and bold. The pieces are packaged in matte light pink that reminds me of the Fenty Beauty and KKW Beauty packaging. The collection is available in stores today at most drugstores and Maybelline.com. If you would like to indulge in Total Temptation, I will be sharing my review along with swatches of the collection below.

Total Temptation Mascara - $11.99

The Total Temptation mascara is a washable mascara that builds lashes for full and soft volume. The formula is infused with coconut extract and it smells so good. The smell isn't noticeable once applied. The mascara is available in three different colour options, Blackest Black, Brownish Black and Very Black. It gives me length and volume with just one coat. It is buildable and doesn't clump up. If you choose to layer it, the brand recommends not to let the mascara dry in between coats. I like how soft and separated my lashes look and feel. It doesn't feel stiff or weigh down my lashes and it's easy to remove. This mascara is definitely the star of the collection. It's usually hard for me to find a mascara that gives volume and provides length. I highly recommend giving the Total Temptation Mascara a try.

Total Temptation Eyeshadow and Highlighter Palette - $17.99

A palette that features eight eyeshadows and two highlighters to create two complete eye and cheek looks. The packaging is sleek and lightweight and the design of the powders are set in a beautiful wave pattern. It includes four warm neutral shadows, four purple smokey shadows and two highlighters in champagne and a pinkish purple shade. All of the colours for each look go very well together. The eyeshadows are very soft and easy to work with. The purple side is my favourite; it looks like a soft mauve on the eyes. It can also be perfect for a night time look if you smoke it out with the black shadow. They lasted around four hours before fading. The highlighters have a sparkly metallic finish and perform much better than the shadows as far as pigmentation and longevitity. Both highlighter shades are beautiful and wearable. The pinkish/purple highlighter looks best as a topper. I think this palette would be perfect for beginners.

Total Temptation Eyebrow Definer Pencil - $11.99

The Total Temptation brow pencil allows you to fill, define and groom your eyebrows. The narrow end of the teardrop tip can be used to define, then use the base of the tip to fill in the brow. Lastly, you can blend and style the brow with the fluffy spoolie at the end of the pencil. The spoolie is in the form of a circle which is very unique but it combs through the brows precisely. The pencil has a similar triangular tip to Benefit's Goof Proof pencil. I like the natural look it gives brows. I do need to set the brows with powder for a longer wear. For a drugstore product, it works pretty well.

Maybelline is one of my favourite drugstore brands and they have really stepped up their game over the years. If you appreciate quality products at affordable price points, this line is for you. Like I previously stated, the mascara is the highlight of this collection and it works amazingly.
