YSL All Hours Concealer - Review and Swatches #.05, 3.5 & 4.5

Hi Beauties!

Today I will be reviewing the Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Concealer. It promises to instantly blur and erase imperfections including dark circles, bags, redness, hyperpigmentation, broken capillaries, age spots, and discoloration. All with no compromise on comfort while lasting 16hrs of wear. Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. All Hours Full-Coverage Concealer is made in “France with the finest pigments and ingredients that respect the skin and delicate eye area”. The concealer retails for $45 CAD/$34 USD and I have three shades to swatch for you.

The concealer comes in a black and gold tube that has a window to see what shade is inside. It has a doe foot applicator that makes it easy to apply. The formula is lightweight and creamy and is very workable and blendable. The consistency is thinner than Tarte’s Shape Tape but Shape Tape provides more coverage. It has medium to full coverage leaving a natural matte finish. It doesn’t have an oily texture. The formula is also buildable allowing for touch ups. It lasts an entire work day for me without creasing or drying out so touch ups are not required. I use shade 4.5 which really helps to smooth and brighten up the under eye area.

Unfortunately, the shade range is not extensive. There are a total of 16 shades ranging from fair, medium and deep. However, I only see 6 shades currenlty available on Sephora.ca. They don’t seem to carry the half increments online. My shade, 4.5, is in the deep family and I usually fall within the medium range. The darkest shade is number 7 so that goes to show there aren’t much dark shades. I do find the price range quite high compared to some great concealers on the market but the prices are in line with other luxury brands.
