Givenchy Le Rouge, Deep Velvet and Night Noir Lipsticks - Review and Swatches

For 2019, Givenchy has reinvented its legendary Le Rouge Lipstick. It is now available in three complementary versions. All three, Le Rouge, Deep Velvet and Night Noir were inspired by couture materials. The packaging is so chic and will make a true fashion accessory. Today I will be sharing one from each line along with swatches. Each lipstick retails for $49 CAD at Sephora, Holt Renfrew and Givenchybeauty.com.

Le Rouge

This classic lipstick is presented in its signature edgy black leather case. There are six new shades and 23 existing shades. It’s a full-coverage, long-wearing, matte-to-semi-matte lipstick that leaves a luminous finish. The formula contains hyaluronic acid spheres to hydrate and plump and Acmella oleracea flowers for a soothing effect. The formula is lightweight and glides on smoothly with intense colour and is very comfortable to wear. Violet Audacieux is a deep plum shade that is perfect for the fall.

Le Rouge Deep Velvet

The Deep Velvet is encased in a new red suede case that resembles attributes from the Givenchy Maison as well as the new formula. The brand new variation has a powdery matte finish to give a couture look and feel. The soft lightweight powdery texture glides on effortlessly and pigmented with one stroke. The formula contains mango butter to provide comfort to the lips. Le Rouge Deep Velvet comes in 6 extremely matte shades. Orange Sable is a beautiful coral shade that is my favourite of the three shades I received.

Le Rouge Night Noir

The Night Noir takes its name from the Givenchy Fashion 2018 FW collection which has inspired the glimmering black and red case. The packaging resembles the sparkling lipstick on the inside. It comes in six fall shades to tint the lips with deep colour and a black sheen that leaves a shiny finish. The formula blends the actions of hyaluronic acid spheres and Acmella oleracea flowers. The sparkles are very subtle which is nice. The lipstick has enough pigment that it can be worn alone but it makes a great topper as well. Night in Gold is a brown shade with gold sparkle.
