Dior BACKSTAGE Glow Face Palette: Pure Gold - Holiday 2020

I’m starting off my holiday post with some glitter and glow from Dior. Following the essential 001 Universal Neutrals and 002 Glitz face palettes, Dior Backstage has created three new makeup palettes. Each palette features four luminous shades of highlighters that suit all skin tones. BACKSTAGE is a collection of makeup artist essentials, used at the Dior runway shows and inspired by the energy backstage. The limited-edition palettes retail for $55 CAD and $45 USD at Sephora.

The packaging is compact and lightweight. It comes in a clear acrylic compact so you can admire the beautiful embossment from the outside. Each highlighter is emprinted with the Dior logo motif. I couldn’t decide between Copper Gold and Pure Gold but I went with the latter. All three palettes are gorgeous but I went with the one I would get the most use of. Pure Gold contains mostly yellow-based shades and I’m a sucker for gold highlighters. Shades Yellow Gold and Platinum have a metallic finish, Gold Gold has an intense finish and Warm Gold has a shimmery finish. Three of the shades have warm yellow undertones and one with a cooler undertone. The powders are ultrafine and contain pearlescent pigments. I like to blend the shades together for a customized glow. You can achieve a natural radiant glow or build it up to an intense glow. The texture feels like a gel-powder that is smooth and firm. They do have a sparkling sheen some more than others. Overall, I love the Pure Gold Palette and I’m glad I picked it up.
