MUFE Rouge Artist Lipsticks: Review and Swatches - 162, 208, 316

Make Up For Ever’s newest campaign aims to inspire people to unleash their personal edge and creativity with the new Rouge Artist Lipstick. The lipsticks have a satin finish. It combines the intensity of a matte and the comfort of a cream formula. The shades are categorized by warm nudes, cool nudes, pinks, corals and reds with a total of 60 shades in the line. Each lipstick retails for $31 CAD at Sephora.

The lipstick tube mimics the precision of a lip brush by attaching the cap to the bottom of the tube. The packaging is quite unique; some might love it and some might not. I have to say I’m in between. While I do find it bulky and hard to store; I don’t use it the way it was intended to. I apply it like a regular lipstick without attaching the cap. I can see makeup artists favouring the longer tube as it mirrors every pro’s essential tool: the brush. The formula contains amino acids and camellia oil making it smooth and hydrating. They are very comfortable to wear and long-lasting. The pigmentation is also great; one swipe provides an opaque finish. It leaves a soft blurring effect but a shiny finish.

Shade 162 - Brave Punch is a beautiful rosey pink that is perfect for every day. Shade 208 - Fierce Flamingo is a hot pink shade; it’s bold and vibrant. Lastly, 316 -Subtle Cider is in the coral family and looks like deep burnt orange and is a great fall time shade.
