Nudestix Creator's Palette - Review, Photos and Swatches

Hi Beauties,

Nudestix has teamed up with leading beauty and lifestyle social media gurus to create their own hand blended shades.   Each custom shade was created to reflect the babe bosses' personal style.  I'm already a fan of the brand's previous kit, #Babeboss Fave Box (reviewed here).  The limited edition NUDE(ART)IST set features six Magnetic Matte Lip pencils in an ultra-hip Magnetic Matte Lip Color formula.  It features pretty corals and dusty pinks as well burgundy and brown shades that are perfect for fall.  The set retails for $65 CAD and has a value of $168.

IMG_5733.JPG

The limited edition set comes in a black tin with the creator's signatures printed in red.  The same design is replicated on the pencils with each creator's signature on their own lipstick.  There is a huge mirror on the inside and it comes with a sharpener like all their kits do.  The formula is very creamy and it glides on smoothly.  The lipsticks are highly pigmented and have long-lasting power.  I didn't find them drying but I usually wear a lip balm under all matte lipsticks.  They were also easy to reapply throughout the day.  All shades are very pretty and wearable on me with the exception of Joyce.   That's just due to the fact that I don't like to wear dark colours but you some of you will love it.  Freckle is amongst my favourites.

Here are the #BABEBOSSES (via nudestix.ca)

@ssssamanthaa – Freckle: a matte ‘70’s warm burgundy meets ‘90’s brown. This is a universal bold nude shade that looks equally great on pale, medium and deep skin tones.

@makeupbydg – Montaigne: the perfect matte natural, nude brown lip. A perfectly natural ‘your lips but better’ tone that takes a nude lip to the next level.

@lynettecenee – Sonoran: a matte, boho brown. Inspired by her roots, this shade pays tribute to the sandy, golden desert hues of Arizona.

@saythelees – Go Girl: a soft matte coral nude lip tone. A natural nude lippie for all occasions.

@iamkareno – Baby K: a fresh, matte coral with a millennial edge. Baby K embodies a cool Asian inspired lifestyle.

@cydbee – Joyce: a deep rich matte cocoa tone. Named after her mom Joyce this lip colour is the perfect statement when applied as a stain.

L-R: Freckle, Go Girl, Baby K, Sonoran, Montaigne and Joyce

Make Up For Ever Artist Face Color: B304, B500 and H312 - Review and Swatches

Hi beauties!

MAKE UP FOR EVER released a new innovation of colour and customization with new Artist Face Color.  The collection features 34 highlighters, sculpting powders, and blushes.  You can mix and match to make endless colour combinations.  The formulas are available in matte, shimmer and pearl finishes.  One can create single, duo or trio palettes in any combination of the 18 blushes, 10 highlight or 10 contour shades.  I will be sharing the shades I chose below as well as swatches.

IMG_5686.JPG

Each pan retails for $29 and the empty mono, duo and trio palettes are $2.  Considering the quality of the palettes, this is a great deal.  The packaging is very sleek and convenient for taking it on-the-go.  The formula features "atomized pigments" which allows for an "intense colour" payoff.    I don't find them overly pigmented but are buildable.  I find you need to use a moderate hand or dense brush to get full coverage.  The powders have a satin feel to them and blend easily into the skin.  I went with two blushes and one highlighter instead of a sculpting shade.   The camel blush (B304) leaves a natural flush of colour on my skin tone.  As vibrant as shade B500 is swatched, it's not that dark on so don't be intimated by the shade.   It did take more effort to diffuse and blend but it does sheer out leaving a nice natural look.  I decided not to go with a typically gold highlighter that I'm usually drawn to and went with H312.  It reminded me of Becca Cosmetics' Blushed Copper which I love.  Shade H312 is slightly lighter than Blushed Copper.  It is shimmery but not over the top and is best suited for darker skin tones or as a blush topper.

IMG_5685.JPG

B304 - camel blush

B500 - plum blush

H312 - shimmery gold-copper highlight

Overall, I love the concept of creating your own palette.  There is a wide variety of shades available for the blush, sculpt and highlight powders.  You can differentiate between the three categories by the first letter of the shade name (B for Blush, S for Sculpting and H for Highlighter).  The blushes have a smooth velvety and dense texture.  I didn't experience any fall out with them.  There are better quality blushes out there as far as pigmentation.  If you like a  natural look then this would be great as they leave a seamless finish.

You can shop the Artist Face Color at Sephora and makeupforever.com.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipsticks: Spice, Kiss and Soft Pink

Hi Beauties!

Anastasia Beverly Hills has recently added a full range of lipsticks to their line of beauty products.  Anastasia has already impressed us with her brow products, eyeshadow palettes, liquid lipsticks and highlighters.  Needless to say, I was super excited to try these lipsticks. There are 30 new matte lipstick shades in this collection ranging from nudes to vivid purples, pinks, and blues.  The lipsticks are said to have a full-pigment lip color with a smooth, ultra-matte finish.  They retail for $18 USD and $23 CAD and I purchased a few to test out.  Below you will be seeing swatches for shades Spice, Kiss and Soft Pink.

IMG_5533.JPG

The bullets come in an elegant shiny black and rose gold casing with the brand's logo printed on it.  The pointy tip of the lipsticks is perfect for applying with precision.  There is a slight tug when you apply these lipsticks.  I prefer to wear a balm under matte lipsticks so this helps with the tugging.  Wearing a balm under does cause some transfer but they last while eating light snacks.  They apply evenly and has an opaque coverage.  They are light weight, wear comfortably for 4-5 hours and are not drying.  Some shades are more creamy than others.  I personally like to touch up with a gloss throughout the day.  I don' t find them as moisturizing as the Tarte Color Splash lipsticks.

IMG_5498.JPG

Spice - This is my favourite shade of the three listed.  It is described as an apricot peach shade.  It has warm undertones and an opaque matte finish.

Kiss - is described as a nude rose petal pink.  It's a very pretty mild shade of pink and has a semi matte finish with good colour payoff.

Soft Pink - is described as a blushing petal pink.  It has warm undertones with a matte finish.  I noticed this shade creep up into the lip crevices.

IMG_5534.JPG

So far I'm enjoying the formula and coverage of these matte lipsticks.  I don't typically wear a lot of mattes but these aren't drying but they aren't moisturizing either.  I'm actually glad these don't have an "ultra matte" finish as advertised.   It was hard to choose which shades to get first because some look so similar to each other.  However, I do think there is a great range of shades that will be suited for all skin tones.  You can shop the Anastasia Matte Lipsticks at Sephora, Ulta, Macy's and anastasiabeverlyhills.com.

Did anyone purchase these lipsticks?

Colourpop Haul - Iluvsarahii Collection: $aucey Palette and Curvii Glossy Lip and Blow Me Away Shadow Palette - Review and Swatches

Hi Beauties!

I recently purchased a few items from Colourpop including items from the Iluvsarahii Collection as well as the Blow Me Away Shadow Palette.  I'm so glad I was able to pick up the eye palettes on sale for $12 USD regularly $18.  To my surprise, items from  Iluvsarahii Collection were still available.  I've been following Karen for awhile and I'm a big fan of her work.  The Blow Me Away Palette was released earlier this year as part of the brands Spring Collection I believe.  I thought I would share my review and swatches with you in case you haven't seen or heard much about the above-mentioned products.  Kindly keep scrolling for more information on each.  You can also skip to the video below for swatches.

Iluvsarahii Collection:

$aucey Pressed Powder Shadow Palette

This is one of two limited edition palettes within the collection.  The palette features two mattes, one metallic and one duo-chrome shade.  It comes in a very chic cream sleeve with gold accents which resembles a crocodile pattern.  I love the coordinated mauve and plum tones of this palette as well as the pop of coral.  They go so well together to create a cohesive eye look as you will see below.  This is my first time trying Colourpop's pressed shadows and I have to say I'm pretty impressed.  All matte shades are soft, pigmented and very blendable.  The metallic shades were also soft and blendable but needed fix + and some building to achieve my desired intensity.  The shadows aren't powdery with no fallout and long wearing.  There are shades to create an entire eye look and I love the look I created.  Heavy Glam looks stunning in the inner corners of the eyes.

Heavy Glam: A vibrant duochrome orange with a pink flip
Chic Happens: A matte cool mauve
Lit: A vibrant metallic purple
Razy: A matte blackened plum

Curvii Ultra Glossy Lip

Curvii is one of the lip products in this collection.  It is said to be a "high shine gloss with medium-coverage, crème finish in a moisturizing and non-sticky, comfortable formula".  It definitely has a thick creamy finish and is not sticky.  It is a peachy nude but not recommended for tan skin.  When worn alone, it looks so pale on me.  I can only wear it over pink or nude lipsticks.  When layered, it looks very pretty and the formula is great.

L-R: Heavy Glam, Chic Happens, Lit, Razy shadows and Curvii gloss.

L-R: Heavy Glam, Chic Happens, Lit, Razy shadows and Curvii gloss.

Blow Me Away Pressed Powder Shadow Palette

This quad features vibrant peachy coral tones that just scream summer.  It includes three matte and one duo-chrome shades.  I love the complementary colour selection of this palette.  The shades are highly pigmented, have great blendability and are soft to the touch.  Take a Break which is the duo-chrome shade, looks beautiful on the lid and brow bone.  Centerfold and Slim Fit are very bold and bright.  They are pressed pigments so I did experience a little fallout.  These two shades are also not recommended for the immediate eye area which I don't understand as they are eyeshadows but nonetheless, I just use them in my crease to be on the safe side.

Take a Break: duo-chrome peach with a subtle gold flip
Issues: matte pastel peach
Centerfold: matte vibrant coral
Slim Fit: matte hot red coral

L-R: Take a Break, Centerfold, Slim Fit and Issues.

Here's a look I created using the Iluvsarahii Collection.  You can find the product details listed here.

You can shop these items on Colourpop.com.
