Puma x Maybelline Collection - Photos & Swatches

Maybelline and Puma have collaborated to combine beauty, fashion and sport with their new high-performance line. It has an athleisure edge and is meant to take you from the office to gym without a sweat. The limited edition collection features bold colours to rock in the street but last through your workouts. The collection is also engineered with multi-tasking, on-the-go products that suit busy and active lifestyles.

The 12 piece collection features five new SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick shades, four eyeshadow sticks in matte and metallic shades, a face-duo stick, one new shade of Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter and a smudge-proof mascara. The sporty packaging is a beautiful light purple shade with the Puma logo printed on all pieces.

The Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter is my favourite item from this collection. I already own all of the previous shades and I’m obsessed. The limited edition highlighter has ultra-reflective pigments for a radiant metallic sheen. The shade Knockout has a beautiful cooler pink base with warm gold shimmer. The two combined make a gorgeous pink champagne shade. It is highly pigmented with a soft consistency and blends very well into the skin.

Knockout Master Chrome Highlighter and Hustle/Burn Colour + Gloss Face Duo

The Color + Gloss Face Duo Stick is also a two-in-one product, presented as an easy-to-use chubby cream stick that's divided between a highlighter and a blush. It adds a natural glossy glow to the cheeks. It is lightweight and has a waterproof formula. The highlighter is a cool toned silver and doesn’t show any colour on my complexion. It would be good for base for powder highlights. The blush is a light berry shade is very subtle on the cheeks. Not sure about the waterproof claims as it faded within a few hours.

The SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipsticks have an intense matte finish that promises 16 hours of wear. The formula is much pigmented and it applies smoothly and opaque with one layer. The applicator has an arrow tip which makes it easy to apply. I found them comfortable to wear but it got dry and crumbled throughout the day. I prefer touching up with a gloss as the day progresses.

Shades:

Fierce – Deep plum (not swatched)
Fearless – Mauve-beige
Epic – Bright pink
Unstoppable - purple-y mauve
Unapologetic – Burnt caramel

The Matte + Metallic Eye Duo Sticks are available in four dual sided shades. One end has a matte shade and the other metallic. The cream formula is waterproof and crease-resistant. I like to blend them in with a brush as the rounded tip doesn’t allow for precision. The matte shades fade quite quickly in the crease once they are blended and the metallics lose their sheen after a few hours but the colour stays on all day.

Discipline/Pulse - matte super-dark purple and metallic lavender
Goals/Courage - matte black and metallic red
Heat/Flash - matte deep rust and metallic gold
Warrior/Flow - matte taupe and metallic silver.

I love that Maybelline and Puma have collaborated to bridge the gap between beauty, fashion and athleisure. Having an active lifestyle myself, I can appreciate the notion of having long wear makeup that will last through a sweat sesh. I typically don’t wear makeup to the gym but there are days that I do and I would wear the duo sticks and the highlighter. My top recommendation from this collection would have to be the Knockout highlighter. Not only because I’m a highlighter junkie but it is a beautiful shade!
