YSL Beauty reinvents its nudes in the extended The Slim Line. The Rouge Pur Couture The Slim Glow Matte lipsticks have a luminous matte finish in modern nudes for every skin tone. The formula contains light-reflecting pearls and mallow flower extracts. The mallow flower extract from the YSL Ourika Garden provides hydrating antioxidants for smoother, softer lips and enhanced radiance. There are 12 shades in this range and I’ll be swatching five of them below. The Slim Glow Matte Lipsticks retail for $50 CAN and $39 USD at Sephora and YSLbeauty.ca.

The lipstick comes in a slim square bullet that was designed to help apply with precision. The metallic pink and matte black packaging is so pretty and luxurious. Which is no surprise as all their packaging is stunning. The formula is described as a creamy matte; they are creamy but aren’t a true matte. They have a satin or semi-matte finish. The pigmentation is semi-opaque and can be built up to opaque coverage. They apply better on the lips than when swatched on my arm due to the flat square top. They apply smoothly with no tugging on the lips. The lipsticks are not drying and very comfortable to wear. There is some transfer when eating. The pearls are very subtle and don’t look glittery. They leave a nice glow to the lips as described. Restricted Pink is my favourite shade of the bunch.
