May Favourites

Hello!

We’re finally getting some summer like temperatures here in Toronto and I’m loving it!  With all the heat I have not been wearing too much makeup.  Well to be honest it’s mostly because I don’t have much time in the early mornings to get ready, so I’ve been using very minimal makeup.  The theme for this month has been simple glowy looks with glossy lips.

Here are my most loved products of May.

Pur Cosmetics - Glow Together Jumbo Bronzer:

Not only are Pur Cosmetics products cruelty free but they have teamed up with Action Against Hunger to donate proceeds from this bronzer to help hunger around the world.  I’m so glad to have contributed to such a great clause. A purchase  I don’t have to feel guilty about.

This bronzer certainly lives up to its name in size.  I was not expecting it to be so huge.  The palette contains three matte and three shimmer shades.  I usually use the matte shades to contour and the shimmer shades to bronze my face.  You can also combine the colours for a more customizable look.  The powders are very smooth and blendable and they achieve the perfect bronzed look every time. If you can, purchase this palette and give back!  “Give back, Glow forward”

Colourpop - Parasol Highlighter:

I mentioned in a previous post that this product is my go to highlighter on vacation.  However as of late, I’ve been using it a lot more to apply a subtle glow for work.  I get up really early for work and most times I don’t put on much makeup .  As long as I have some concealer and highlighter, I’m good to go.

Parasol is described as a “soft peachy gold” highlight. I love Colourpop’s highlighters; the formula is buttery and very blendable.  I use my fingers for the best application and blend with a brush.  I apply it to my cheekbones, bridge of my nose and cupid’s bow for subtle glow.

Lipsticks:

UD Gwen Stefani Lipstick - Ex-girlfriend: (reviewed here)

I can’t stress enough how simple I’ve been going this month with my makeup.  This lipstick is semi-sheer but it adds a nice rosey nude tint to your lips.  It wears very comfortable and the formula is thin.  I keep it in my purse for touch-ups through out the day.  If you like full coverage lipsticks, this one is not for you.  When I originally bought this lipstick I didn’t like that it was so sheer, because I have pigmented lips and I  always had to wear a base under it, but now I just layer it on. The luminous sheen it gives is good enough for me to wear to work.

Tarte Glossy Paint – Double Tap

Double Tap is described as a “cool mauve” but is more of a darker nude on me.  I like the opaque coverage this gloss gives and the formula is very creamy and comfortable to wear.  It’s not sticky which is a plus for me.  It tends to creep up in the lip lines after it wears off which takes about 4 hours but disappears once re-applied.  I would like to try some of the lighter nudes in this collection.

Here are the swatches of the products listed above:

Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray:

I’ve been using this spray for a little over a month and I really like the beach waves it gives my locks.  It only works well on my wet hair.  The sea salt ingredient adds volume and texture to my hair.  I spray a generous amount to my freshly washed hair and let it air dry for best results.

 Salon Perfect Lashes: 614

I have seen people rave about these lashes on Instagram so when I went to the US, I picked up a pair to try.  The packaging even says blogger favourite and I can see why.  I wore them a couple of times and I really like them.  The lash brand is thin similar to Ardell or Red Cherry Lashes' and they are very long.  I definitely want to pick up more next time I visit the States.

Well that's it loves.  Do you see any of your favourites?  Please let me know below what you have been loving lately in the comments below.
