Too Faced Born this Way Concealer: Review

Hi loves!

Today I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the new Born this Way Concealer which launches on June 15th, 2016. The retail price is $38 CND and $28 USD (such a big difference but that’s Canadian problems for ya).   I was gifted this product at Generation Beauty Toronto and had the opportunity to test it out before it releases.  There are 10 different shades in this line and I was colour matched by a Too Faced expert.

Via Too Faced:

  • Oil-free
  • Coconut Water helps delicately replenish skin’s moisture levels without over hydrating
  • Infused with the resilient Alpine Rose to brighten the skin’s appearance and promote elasticity
  • ·Hyaluronic Acid provides long-lasting, skin-balancing hydration for a smoother, more youthful appearance

The formula is creamy but light weight; blends very smoothly and does not crease.  I love that it is infused with coconut water which is great for those that have dry under eyes like myself. You even get a hint of coconut when you pass the wand by your nose. The alpine rose and hyaluronic acid really do aid in brightening the skin and leaving a smoother appearance.  Every time I wear this concealer, I look awake and very radiant as it blurs fine lines and helps diminish the appearance of my dark circles.  On days where I require more full coverage, I apply a colour corrector as a base and it hides my dark circles much better.

Here is a swatch of the shade Medium Tan.  The swatch on the left is with one swipe of the wand and the right one is blended in a little.

M Final thoughts:

I’m not totally convinced this shade is a perfect match for me.  A shade darker might work better to conceal my dark circles. I did notice some flash back in some photography but I believe it’s the shade choice.  I will continue to use this product as an everyday concealer to highlight my under eye area.

Anyone planning on picking this up?

Thanks for stopping by,

Samantha
