Burberry The Antique Nudes Collection - First Impressions and Swatches: Dark Earthy Blush, Eye Colour Contour No.102, 112, 1124, Liquid Lip Velvet No.01 and Full Kisses No.505, 501

Hi Beauties!

I was totally ecstatic to review this collection as I have a few Burberry pieces and I absolutely love them.  And who wouldn't be excited about an all nude collection?  The Antique Nudes Collection features runway-inspired nudes with muted pinks and natural tones to create the perfect nude look.  The collection was created to sculpt the face and enhance features with ease.  Today I will be sharing a few items from this line to achieve the natural Burberry look.

Light Glow Blush - Dark Earthy No.11 ($47 CAD)

Dark Earthy No. 11

Dark Earthy No. 11

Dark Earthy Blush is one of the runway icons used backstage by Wendy Rowe, Burberry Make-up Artistic Consultant.  I own a couple of their other blushes and they provide a subtle healthy glow to the cheeks.  The signature Burberry check pattern is embossed on the blush and it is housed in a mirrored case that includes an angled brush applicator.  I just love Burberry's packaging, it is so luxe and sleek.  The soft powder is fine and ultra-buildable and is meant to enhance complexions.  It is described as a medium brown shade with a matte finish.  This is not a typical colour that I would choose for a blush but it's good for a natural look.  It doesn't provide a glowing appearance on my skin tone but I paired it with a highlighter to brighten up the cheeks.  This blush can also be used to contour the cheeks or on the eyes to add dimension.  There is a lighter version of this blush called Earthly that would probably work better as blush for lighter complexions and this darker shade as a contour shade.

Eye Colour Contour ($35 CAD)

The Eye Contour is a shadow pen created to achieve effortless smokey or sculpted eye looks.  There are three colour options in this collection which you will be seeing swatches for.  The pen has a dome tip that fits perfect in the crease to follow the natural curve of the eye to add depth and it also blends easily into the lash line.  It has a creamy formula that last all day and it is also waterproof.  I wasn't expecting much from these shadows as I tend to stay away from shadow sticks but I was pleassantly surprised by these.  They are very pigmented and I was able to create a beautiful eye look (see below) with just using the three shades below.

Liquid Lip Velvet ($38 CAD)

Light Nude No.01

Light Nude No.01

Joining the Lip Velvet Collection,  Burberry introduces the Liquid Lip Velvets which is a matte cream lipstick.  The formula has a whipped like texture for a smooth application.  It is pigmented, light weight and comfortable to wear.   There are three shades in this collection, Fawn Rose No.09, Fawn No.05 and Light Nude No.01.  I have the shade Light Nude which you'll see a swatch of below.  Unfortunately this shade is not complementing on me; it was very pale looking.  I haven't played around with it much to see what lip liner or base would be better suited for it.  Therefore, I can't comment on the longevity of the lipstick.

Full Kisses ($33 CAD)

L-R: Nude Blush No.501 and Nude.505

The Burberry Full Kisses was introduced in the brand's Kisses Collection.  It comes in a sleek retractable pen with a flat top bullet.  This top allows you to follow the curve of the lips and easily maneuver from curve to curve.  It is said to define, shape and provide a fuller looking lip.  I love the formula on these as it is lightweight, creamy and very hydrating.  It is full coverage and leaves a luminous finish and wears after a few hours.  There are three shades in this line, Nude Beige No.500 (new shade), Nude No.505 and Nude Blush No.501 (swatches above).  These are ideal for on-the-go application.  Nude Blush is my favourite shade as it is a beautiful rosy pink; I'm pictured below wearing it on the lips.

I'm wearing Pale Nude on the lids and Rosewood and Stone Grey in the crease.  Dark Earthy on the cheeks and Nude Blush on the lips.

Burberry Nails ($25)

A nail collection inspired by the Burberry runway nail shades.  It is said to have a lasting high-gloss finish and the rounded end brush design allows for high precision.  There are three polishes in the Antique Nudes Collection two of which are limited edition.

  • Nude Pink
  • Stone Green (Limited Edition)
  • Tea Rose (Limited Edition)

The Antique Nudes Collection is available at selected Nordstrom's, Hudson's Bay, Sephora, Burberry.com and other retailers that carry Burberry.  If I were to recommend one item from this collection it would definitely be the Full Kisses Lipsticks because I love the formula and the two shades that I have.  I will be adding the Eye Colour Contours to my routine for sure for quick looks.  Their blushes are also amazing and worth splurging on.  I have yet to try the nail polish but but I will soon.

What is your favourite Burberry item?

Thanks for stopping by,

Samantha
