Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Lip Color - Loyalist, Creator and Escapist Review and Swatches

Maybelline has launched their 2017 Summer Collection and included are the SuperStay Matte Ink Lip Colors. These lipsticks are meant to ink your lips with a matte finish. The prices range from $10-13 CDN/USD. There are 10 vibrant shades in this line and today I'll be sharing swatches for three of them.
The lipsticks are housed in a square barrel and comes with a arrow tip applicator for precise application. I like this feature to outline and define my lip line. The lipstick glides on easily with an even finish that wasn't patchy. The texture is a little heavy as I can feel its presence on my lips. All shades are highly pigmented and are transfer proof. I was able to eat and drink without it fading. They also have a sweet vanilla scent. Unfortunately these lipsticks feel a bit tacky but can only be felt if you're smacking your lips together. They do take awhile to set and they leave a line on your inner lower lip as it dries. These babies stain so I recommend using a makeup remover and lip scrub to take it off. Even after a shower, the arm swatches weren't completely removed.

If you like long-wearing lip products you might enjoy this formula but I personally don't like most matte lipstick formulas. Upon application, these wear comfortably but I felt they got drier and crumbled as they wore. With that said, they're not as drying as other matte liquid lipsticks so if you like matte lips, you will like this formula. I need to touch up with a gloss and prefer to wear a lip balm underneath. I do like the colour range that it comes in, there are bright shades and neutral shades. The shade Creator stands out to me as it's not a colour I would typically wear but it looks great on my skin tone. The pigmentation and staying power are amazing.
